The case names 16 leaders and activists of the party and its affiliates, including Faridpur organizational metropolitan BNP member secretary Golam Mustafa, as accused.
Last Thursday afternoon, a section of local BNP leaders and activists raided AK Azad’s Jhiltuli residence in Faridpur city. They went to the house alleging that the Awami League was holding a secret meeting there.
In this incident, Hamim Group’s Land Head Officer Mohammad Rafizul Khan (40) submitted a case application to Faridpur Kotwali Police Station on Friday evening. 25 to 30 unidentified people have been named as accused in the case.
Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Duty Officer Ahaduzzaman accepted the case application. He said that the officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station is out. The matter will be informed to him when he comes.
In the application, the plaintiff mentioned that on Thursday afternoon, at around 3:15 pm, he was working at the office-cum-residence of Hamim Group Managing Director AK Azad in Jhiltuli. At that time, project engineer Md. Solaiman Hossain, security guard Md. Mehedi Hasan, supervisor Md. Jalal Sheikh, cleaner Abdul Hannan, housekeeper Majeda Begum, CCTV operator Selim Hossain and assistant Shaon Sheikh were present with him.
